Biography:
David C. Wilson is a partner at Law Firm Carolinas whose practice focuses on homeowner and condominium association law. Based in Charlotte and licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina, he represents associations throughout both states. He leads the firm’s South Carolina community association and assessment collection practice.
David advises boards and community managers on governance, governing documents, covenant enforcement, assessments, meetings, and disputes. He helps clients evaluate their authority, available options, and the practical consequences of their decisions. His representation includes litigation when court proceedings are needed.
David is a Fellow of the College of Community Association Lawyers, which recognizes professional achievement, education, and leadership in community association law. He is a past Chair and current member of the Community Associations Institute’s South Carolina Legislative Action Committee and serves on CAI’s national amicus curiae panel, reviewing requests for friend-of-the-court briefs in cases affecting community associations.
Education is an important part of David’s practice. He provides board training, assists with community and board meetings, and regularly speaks at national, regional, and state community association programs. His presentations have included CAI’s national Community Association Law Seminar and events in both Carolinas. He also writes about legal and practical issues affecting associations.
David earned his law degree from Charlotte School of Law and holds both a master’s degree in teaching and an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His community service includes Scouting and church youth programs, and he is an Eagle Scout.
